After receiving an invitation from my friend Garrett and his fiancée Éléonore to come stay in their small town of Lagny (about 45 minutes outside Paris, near Euro Disney), we excitedly planned a two-week trip to France.  We knew we'd be happy to just ride bicycles in the countryside and take a cooking class in Paris—everything else would be icing on the cake!
